About Sankalpa Wellness
What Is A Sankalpa?
sankalpa, săn · kăl · pă, (सङ्कल्प):
- A short phrase or sentence, clearly and concisely expressed, using the same wording each time, to bring about a positive change in one’s life.
- It can be a word, a mantra, a phrase, a statement. It can even be a color, a happy place, a feeling, or a person or people you want to send good vibes to. As you can see, intentions are open for interpretation and are up to the individual practitioner to determine.
- It is a call to awakening. It makes one able to direct consciousness through the chakras. In popularized culture, it’s like a resolution–a determination that you commit to focus on, that is then repeated so that your mind becomes receptive and may recall the instructions in your subconscious mind.
A Sankalpa is an intention from the heart. A pure motive.

About Sankalpa Wellness
Sankalpa Wellness is a holistic lifestyle company founded in 2010. The company, founded by Skila Ramirez (C-IAYT) operates out of Dallas / Fort Worth and specializes in products and services crafted to promote optimal mental and physical health. Among those services are individual private sessions and group sessions – including group events and corporate workplace activities. The company has worked with individuals, hospitals, city wellness programs, and more, offering an array of yoga and meditation services both online and in person.
The origins of Sankalpa Wellness were inspired by the personal journey and lifestyle of Skila Ramirez. As an environmentally conscious homemaker, for years she created her own self-care products and household cleaners to reduce exposure to toxins and promote optimal health for herself, her family, friends and the environment. Visitors would often compliment the look-and-feel of the home while praising the scents and in short time, the orders began to pour in.
Initially, the hand-crafted products were sold independently of the wellness services provided by Sankalpa Wellness but juggling the two separate entities became taxing. In search of a way to streamline her operations and buy back some time, it was her son that suggested that she merge the two in to one. Stating the obvious, “Mom, you have a lifestyle company. The way you live is your brand,” he reasoned.
Thus, in 2010, Sankalpa Wellness was born!

About our Logo
- The core color, both lighter and darker shades of blue complement the theme of the website and they are not just colors associated with feelings of peace and calm, indigo is actually the owner’s favorite color.
- The heart fundamentally represents Skila’s definition of a sankalpa; “an intention from the heart.”
- It is representative of the fourth ‘wheel of energy’ (also known as a “chakra”). The fourth chakra, known as ‘anahata’ (“the heart chakra “) is located in the center of the chest and serves as the center of love, both for the individual and for others. Translation of the sanskrit word ‘anahata’ is ‘unstruck’. Yoga studies emphasize that a catalyst for healing the body and mind is unconditional love for ourselves and others. In spite of what Western thinking would lead you to believe, green is the color of love. It is the color that represents the healing and transformative power of unconditional love.
- The position of the heart – in the middle of the logo – is also representative of anahata being the fourth of the seven chakras (in the middle).
